It's not set that far into the future so that it becomes distracting. The biggest thing is droids who look like real people, but other than that everything is quite beleivable. And Roarke will melt your heart. And a bit of a warning - Eve is pretty hard-bitten in the early books but as her love for Roarke and his for her grows - she really starts to mellow out a lot.Kristie (J)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15743921647882733738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5349249712838532329.post-61095676490759281352007-01-05T21:48:00.000-05:002007-01-05T21:48:00.000-05:00I enjoy series as well. I hope I can get over the futuristic aspect as well.Kristiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06546211802962694878noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5349249712838532329.post-17130913122645161962007-01-05T07:24:00.000-05:002007-01-05T07:24:00.000-05:00I haven't read the others you got, but Naked in De...I haven't read the others you got, but Naked in Death - oh how I love these books!!! I tried NID a number of years ago and didn't get very far into it. I wasn't that much into RS at the time and it just didn't grab me. But after seeing all the hoopla for Eve and Roarke I decided to give another try and this time I fell in love with them and the whole cast of characters. They are the only books I buy in HC.<br />And as for libraries. *sigh* First off - the romance section isn't all that great here. And while I love the thought of getting free books, I just have too much separation anxiety in having to hand them back *g*. I'm a big rereader so I found the only thing that works is having to have my very own copies that I can read at a moment's whim.Kristie (J)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15743921647882733738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5349249712838532329.post-15738682618502325652007-01-04T23:16:00.000-05:002007-01-04T23:16:00.000-05:00I really do like to read series books in order and...I really do like to read series books in order and so I'm going to try and cram Sunstroke in before my review copy of his latest book, Trouble comes in the mail. Like you, I'm curious to see how Jesse holds up to his father and mother. I enjoy both of their writing and I've heard equally great things about their son.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.com
